-
Install one skill into one agent
DISABLE_TELEMETRY=1 npx skills@1.7.0 add owner/repo --skill skill-name -a codexUse -a claude-code, -a cursor and so on. Add -g for your user folder instead of the project.
A package manager for skills. Give it a repo and it finds every SKILL.md, asks which
skills and which agents you want, and copies or symlinks them into the right folders:
.claude/skills/ for Claude Code, .agents/skills/ for Codex, and so on. It also lists,
updates and removes what you’ve installed, and npx skills init scaffolds a new skill.
When to use it
- You use more than one agent and want one skill installed into all of them.
- A skill’s README tells you to run
npx skills add. This is the tool it means. - You want to try a skill once without installing it:
npx skills use owner/repo@skill.
Before you install
Scan the skill, not just the installer. skills will install anything, and a skill can
include scripts. Run --list first and install named skills with --skill instead of
--all. Symlinks are the default, so a later update changes every linked agent at once.
Private repos use your existing git, gh or SSH credentials. The tool says it never reads
the gh token directly.
