Vercel’s skill collection. For building interfaces, the most useful are:
- web-design-guidelines: reviews UI code against 100+ rules for accessibility, focus
states, forms, motion (
prefers-reduced-motion), dark mode and theming (color-scheme,theme-color), typography, touch and i18n. It reports findings asfile:line. - react-best-practices: 40+ React/Next.js performance rules ranked by impact (waterfalls, bundle size, re-renders).
- composition-patterns and react-view-transitions: component API design and native-feeling transitions.
- vercel-optimize: ranks cost and performance fixes from a project’s real Vercel metrics.
When to use it
- As a pre-merge UI review: “review my UI” or “check accessibility” on changed files.
- Performance passes on React and Next.js code.
Before you install
- web-design-guidelines downloads its rules each run from a GitHub URL that tracks
main, so its behavior can change without a new version of the skill. For a fixed rule set, copycommand.mdfromvercel-labs/web-interface-guidelines(MIT) into the skill. - Install selectively. The two deploy skills handle tokens and upload code, which you don’t need for code review.
