QuickBooks plugin for Claude

Intuit's skills for QuickBooks Online (business health briefings, industry benchmarks, invoice reminders, estimates from email threads, payroll lookups and base-pay changes) running on the hosted QuickBooks connector.

Install

  1. Add the marketplace

    claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins
  2. Install the plugin

    claude plugin install intuit-quickbooks@knowledge-work-plugins

First connect QuickBooks at claude.ai/customize/connectors (Intuit sign-in); the plugin ships no server of its own. In Claude Code, sign in with your claude.ai account (/login) so the connector loads. Don't add QuickBooks with claude mcp add, because it shadows the connector.

Intuit’s official QuickBooks plugin, listed in Anthropic’s knowledge-work-plugins marketplace. It has ten skills. Four are read-only (business-health-check, industry-benchmark, analyze-payroll-cost, payroll-help). Four can write to QuickBooks after you confirm: chase-overdue-invoices, email-to-estimate-invoice, set-base-pay and payroll-employee-onboarding. The other two are lending (explains QuickBooks Capital options) and a setup guide.

When to use it

  • A plain-language, CFO-style read of your P&L, cash flow, balance sheet and A/R aging.
  • Comparing your margins with industry peers in your region.
  • Sending tone-matched reminders on overdue invoices.
  • Turning a customer email thread into a QuickBooks estimate or invoice.

Before you install

You need a QuickBooks Online subscription, plus QuickBooks Payroll for the payroll skills. Once connected, the agent can send reminder emails to your customers, create customers, products, estimates and invoices, and change employee pay. Each of those skills asks first, but approve each payload rather than the whole session. The repo is new (v0.1.0 manifest, with seven skills under “Unreleased” in the changelog), so expect changes. Output isn’t tax, legal or lending advice.
