Anthropic’s finance and accounting plugin (v1.3.0). It has eight skills: journal-entry prep, reconciliation, close management, financial statements, variance analysis, audit support and SOX testing. Commands like /finance:reconciliation and /finance:variance-analysis run a skill on request.

When to use it

  • Month-end close: sequencing close tasks, drafting accruals and prepaid amortization entries with debits, credits and supporting detail.
  • Reconciling GL balances to a subledger, a bank statement or intercompany, with reconciling items sorted by type and age.
  • Explaining budget-vs-actual or period-over-period variances (price/volume, rate/mix) in writing, with materiality thresholds.
  • Drafting SOX 404 sample selections and testing workpapers.

Before you install

The plugin is a set of methods. It has no data of its own. Its value depends on the data you give it, whether that’s a CSV export, a pasted trial balance or a connected warehouse. There is no accounting-system connector: the plugin’s own CONNECTORS.md says no ERP MCP server is supported yet. Pair it with the QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite entries if you want live ledger data. Anthropic says outputs aren’t financial, tax or audit advice and should be reviewed by a qualified professional before anything is booked or filed.
