Zapier MCP

Zapier's hosted MCP server exposes actions you choose, across 9,000+ apps (Gmail, Sheets, Slack, HubSpot, QuickBooks and more), as agent tools. The plugin adds onboarding, demo, explore and status skills.

Install

  1. Add the marketplace

    claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins
  2. Install the plugin

    claude plugin install zapier@knowledge-work-plugins

Zapier also publishes the plugin through its own zapier/marketplace. On claude.ai, add Zapier as a connector and sign in; Zapier creates the server during sign-in.

Zapier MCP is a hosted MCP server (https://mcp.zapier.com/api/v1/connect). The tools it exposes are the Zapier actions you enable at mcp.zapier.com. That lets an agent reach apps that have no MCP server of their own, such as an older accounting tool, a niche CRM or a Google Sheet used as a ledger. The plugin adds four skills: zapier-onboard, zapier-demo, zapier-explore (suggests actions for your role) and zapier-status (health check, audit and diagnose).

When to use it

  • The business app you need has no official MCP server.
  • You want one governed connection point, where you pick which actions are exposed, instead of many separate servers.
  • Moving data between tools as part of a close or reporting routine, such as appending rows to a Sheet or posting a summary to Slack.

Before you install

Each successful tool call uses two tasks from your Zapier plan (failed calls are free), so agent loops can use up your plan’s tasks. Enable only the actions you need, especially write actions like sending email or creating records. Zapier’s guidance lets you approve an action for the whole session. For anything that sends, pays or deletes, approve each call instead.
