Remote server config
{"mcpServers":{"supabase":{"type":"http","url":"https://mcp.supabase.com/mcp"}}}Your client prompts you to log in. Prefer a scoped URL such as https://mcp.supabase.com/mcp?project_ref=<ref>&read_only=true.
Supabase’s own MCP server (the repo sits in the supabase-community GitHub org but is
published by Supabase as com.supabase/mcp). The agent can list and design tables, run
queries, apply migrations, fetch logs and advisors, manage edge functions and generate types.
When to use it
- Building a backend on Supabase and wanting the agent to see the real schema.
- Debugging with logs and security or performance advisors next to the code.
- Local development through the Supabase CLI’s endpoint (
http://localhost:54321/mcp, fewer tools).
Before you install
- Read Supabase’s security guidance first. Connect it to a development project, not production.
- Use
project_ref=to limit it to one project,read_only=trueto block writes, andfeatures=to expose only the tool groups you need. - Rows returned from your database can carry prompt injection. Keep your client’s approval prompts on for tool calls.
