Notion MCP (remote)
Notion's hosted MCP server lets an agent search your workspace semantically, read pages as Markdown, and create or update pages, databases and comments with your own Notion permissions.
Install
-
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http notion https://mcp.notion.com/mcpThen run /mcp and complete the OAuth flow. There's an SSE fallback at https://mcp.notion.com/sse.
Notion’s recommended MCP server, hosted at https://mcp.notion.com/mcp. Tools include
semantic search across the workspace (and connected apps, where your plan has AI Connectors),
Markdown page reads and edits, notion-create-pages, notion-update-page,
notion-create-comment and notion-create-file-upload.
When to use it
- Your SOPs, runbooks, vendor records or close checklists live in Notion, and you want an agent to read them or keep them up to date.
- Turning a meeting or a process walkthrough into a structured Notion page or database row.
- Pairing with the operations plugin, which ships this server in its connector list.
Before you install
The agent gets everything your Notion account can see, not only pages you share with it. If your account can see finance or HR pages, the agent can too. Use a workspace or account with the access you actually want the agent to have. Notion says to use this remote server rather than the self-hosted one, which may be retired.
